I can't describe anything else then that...
North Park Community Church--my church in London--just amazes me like...WAH.
Went this morning and got in...HOLY COW!!! guitarist, pianist, bassist, drummer....and...4 trumpets, 4 trombones, fluteist, clarinets....sax.....oh man.....!!!!!

yeah..plus the speaker was awesome too! =)

think about that....i couldn't think of anything...so yes...that says a lot for me...got thinking about stuff that i want to do..but just haven't gotten around to it cuz i'm lazy and stuff like that...

Live life PURPOSEFULLY

God is the one who is in control and He's the one that pretty much runs our life..or DOES HE?
We always say that we want to know His will....etc...but we're on HIS time..not ours.

BUT

When God is working in our lives...and HE wants us to actually do something...do we do it?

When God is working in our lives...we have to work it out. vs 12-13

vs 12-13 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to WORK OUT your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU to will and to act according to his good purpose.

And, when we dont' bother to work out what God works in--that's called spiritual distance

Also, when we work out MORE than what God works in--we burnout

When God works in you and you want it to happen, IT:
1.requires effort
2.needs to be worked out in public (show it and make an impact)
3.is serious stuff

And when we do this, we have to GO AGAINST THE FLOW--basically don't follow what everyone else is doing...Do what GOD wants you to do and dont' care about what anyone else is doing because you know that what you're doing is what God is telling you to do no matter what everyone else thinks.

Vs 14 Do everything without COMPLAINING or arguing

yup...NO COMPLAINING!

I am often guilty of complaining way too much when i'm in school...rite now..etc.

--ack too much exams?!! ahhh!! etc etc...I'm tired.etc....bad...why do we complain?!!!!

Types of Complaining
-whiners
-martyrs
-cynics
-perfectionists
-crusaders

WE NEED TO ELIMINATE COMPLAINING!!!

WHY? Because there are Dangers of Grumbling:
1. Becomes habitual
2. Leads to inner dissatisfaction
3. Destroys the spirit of others
4. IMPAIRS THE ABILITY TO REFLECT CHRIST

To overcome complaining, we have to:
remember God's goodness
remember God's wisdom
remember God's in control
remember God's authority.

So, that was the sermon notes today...it just made me realize how much of a complainer that i am...and that i need to change. Hopefully I can, with lotsa help from the man above...but hopefully...i'll learn to let him take the reigns.

FEAR

So I was sitting in ACF (asian christian fellowship) yesterday night and there was a guest speaker which was also the fellowship's missionary. He was talking about FEAR. Everyone has Fear right? Anyway, he was saying that fear is one of the ways that Satan keeps us from God. I mean, we think that fear is like...a normal thing, but actually it's more than that. It's what we PERCEIVE that gives us fear. Take fear factor for example. When we watch it, we're like "oh...that looks like nothing! I can eat cow brains and that's not disgusting!" etc. But for those people that are on the show actually eating it, what they see and what we see is totally different. It's our perception that makes us fear. He also gave us a lil acronym?
